No.2 – Atlanta Falcons

NFC South: 2nd

Record: 7-9

What defensive tackles are on the Falcons roster?

The Atlanta Falcons right now have seven defensive tackles on their roster: Jack Crawford (Penn State), Michael Bennett (Ohio State), Tyeler Davison (Fresno State), Grady Jarrett (Clemson), Deadrin Senat (South Florida), Jacob Tuioti-Mariner (UCLA) and Justin Zimmer (Ferris State).

Returning Grady Jarrett and Deadrin Senat give the Falcons something to work with, but they do lose Terrell McClain, so there’s a ton of unproven talent up front. This team was in the top half in sacks last year, but they also had a bottom 10 rush defense. So even with a few additions, they know they need some more help.

None of their defensive tackles right now are above 309 pounds, and Alexis Johnson can get up to 320 if necessary. He would be a major addition for them as a result and allow them more room to work with up front.

What picks do the Falcons have?

Round 5: No.152, No.172

Round 6: No.186

Round 7: No.230

With four NFL Draft picks in the final three rounds, the Falcons could definitely take a look at Alexis Johnson. They’ll want to find an extra body to give themselves depth up front and somebody who could be a steal. That’s exactly what Johnson is.
