No.1 – Minnesota Vikings

NFC North: 2nd

Record: 8-7

What defensive tackles are on the Vikings roster?

After losing two of their top contributors last year, these are the five defensive tackles currently with the Minnesota Vikings: Curtis Cothran (Penn State), Jalyn Holmes (Ohio State), Jaleel Johnson (Iowa), Linval Joseph (East Carolina) and Shamar Stephen.

The loss of Sheldon Richardson has this team desperate for help at defensive tackle. They were barely above .500 last year, and they need to replace him just to stay afloat. By the way, it’s worth noting Tom Johnson was their top tackler among interior defensive linemen off the bench, and he’s also gone.

That leaves Linval Joseph, who is without depth and without help from a rush defense that was already just middle of the pack last year. Minnesota will be looking for explosive help at defensive tackle, but they’ll also want to take a chance on some potential steals. That’s where Alexis Johnson comes in. He could be a depth guy for Joseph, as there are no other true big tackles on the team.

What picks do the Vikings have?

Round 6: No.190, No.209

Round 7: No.247, 250

Again, with four late NFL Draft picks, you can bet the Minnesota Vikings will use one on somebody who could be a steal at defensive tackle. Johnson showed throughout the 2018 season what he could do when fully healthy, so he definitely may be the pick.
