Who gets invited to a camp?

Keller Chryst, Quarterback

Team: Denver Broncos

John Elway has clearly been failing to find a quarterback, but he may take more of a chance on a guy who’s accurate instead of being a guy with a ton of potential this time. As a result, he’ll want to give Keller Chryst a look. Chryst never got the full chance with Tennessee football, but he was a Stanford Cardinal player, so there’s an Elway connection. That might be enough to get him an invite.

Paul Bain, Defensive Lineman

Team: Atlanta Falcons

We can’t stress enough how much the Atlanta Falcons need to bolster their defensive line altogether. As a result, a look at a guy who could show a bit of versatility, even if he was a walk-on and career backup, may be enough to get him a shot at their camp. Paul Bain will be the third guy Atlanta takes a look at from Rocky Top, but he will only get a look. He’s too much of a tweener.

Madre London, Running Back

Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Madre London didn’t get the carries he should have as a power running back last year, and that will keep him from not just not going in the NFL Draft but even from being signed. Still, the Philadelphia Eagles want to add on to their running back game, and they specifically need a power back who is trained in blocking. London brings that to the table, so don’t be shocked when they give him a look.

Jesse Medford, Long Snapper

Team: New York Giants

Numerous teams have players with one year left on their contract as long-snappers, and the New York Giants are one of them. As a result, they’ll invite Jesse Medford in and give him a look, and if he works out, they can keep him on the roster.

D.J. Henderson, Defensive Back

Team: New York Jets

Like many teams, the New York Jets are desperately looking for depth at defensive back. So D.J. Henderson is going to get a look at camp this year there to see if he can help out in any way. He obviously never showed enough on the field to be signed with the Vols, but maybe this will be his in.

Malik Elion, Wide Receiver

Team: Indianapolis Colts

Another long-shot, Malik Elion was a walk-on for Tennessee football who almost never played. As a result, he’s the final guy on this page who won’t just not go in the NFL Draft but won’t even be signed. Still, the Indianapolis Colts could use more help in the passing game now, and a little speed at receiver wouldn’t hurt. Elion is a track star, so they could give him a look and see where he fits in.
