No.1 – 2017 NFL Draft

Derek Barnett: Round 1 Pick 14

Derek Barnett led the way in the 2017 NFL Draft that saw a total of six Volunteers drafted. As the 14th pick, Barnett was drafted before any Alabama player which is always something to brag about.

At Tennessee, Barnett accounted for a total of 198 tackles, including 52 for loss. He also holds the school record for career sacks with 33.

Alvin Kamara: Round 3 Pick 67

Maybe the most underutilized player in the history of the program Alvin Kamara has turned out to be one of the most dynamic running backs in the NFL.

Kamara won the Offensive Rookie of the Year in his first year with the Saints.

Cameron Sutton: Round 3 Pick 94

Cameron Sutton was one of the most consistent players for Tennessee football on defense. He quickly became a big-time player maker shutting down the other teams best receiver and even made plays in the return game.

Jalen Reeves-Maybin: Round 4 Pick 124

Jalen Reeve-Maybin was an energy guy. He played on special teams his first season, but once he was inserted in the starting lineup, he was the leader of the defense. In 2014 and 2015, he accounted for over 200 tackles combined, including 25 for loss and eight sacks.

Josh Malone: Round 4 Pick 128

Josh Malone was better than most fans give him credit for. In three seasons with the Vols, all he did was catch touchdowns. His senior season, Malone accounted for 972 yards receiving on 50 receptions with 11 touchdowns.

Joshua Dobbs: Round 4 Pick 135

Joshua Dobbs didn’t really didn’t show out until his junior season. But, his two final seasons were spectacular. Dobbs threw for 2,946 yards on 225 completions in 2016, accounting for 27 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions. Dobbs always used his legs rushing for 831 yards on 150 attempts with 12 touchdowns.
