We’re back with another receiver, and this is the star receiver of the bunch for Tennessee football. Jauan Jennings took a bit of time to get going after returning from his 2017 season-ending injury and missing spring practice.

But by the middle of 2018, Jennings finally returned to form. He finished with 30 receptions for 438 yards and three touchdowns. This year, as a fifth-year senior, he figures to be the go-to receiver and the big-play guy.

Josh Palmer is probably the most complete receiver. Marquez Callaway has the most athletic talent. Dominick Wood-Anderson is a mismatch at tight end. Jim Chaney will love all of them. But Jennings is the go-to playmaker whenever anybody needs him. He’s the big-play guy, and at 6’3″ 216 pounds, Chaney and Jeremy Pruitt will likely make him clearly the No. 1 option.

The 2012 team shows that there’s room in Chaney’s system for four receivers in a passing game, and none of them are likely to put up the numbers this year the way Jennings is. Provided he stays healthy, he could burst onto the scene as a potential first-round picks. After all, his big stats will be complemented by plays that everybody remembers.
