With Carlin Fils-Aime and Jeremy Banks both back at running back full-time, and with the arrival of four-star running back Eric Gray, Tim Jordan will have a hard time keeping up his reps alongside Ty Chandler, who is clearly the starter. But Jordan is the guy who picks up offensive schemes the quickest, so he’s still likely to be the other main guy in the rotation.
Still, those questions forced us to move him down here on our list. Tennessee football only has one certainty at running back at this moment. Jordan is as close to a certainty as one could be, however, and that’s good news for him.
Entering his junior year, he’s coming off a season in which he averaged four yards a carry and had 522 rushing yards to go with three touchdowns. Another 12 receptions for 116 yards demonstrates versatility that NFL scouts could love, and he is also the best back on the team at picking up blocking schemes.
As a result, Jordan has a slight chance of working his way into enough reps that scouts begin to fall in love with him. And that’s enough for us to put him on this list for now. Keep an eye on how things shake out when the season begins, though.
