Yes, Jarrett Guarantano is playing under his fourth offensive coordinator in four years. But he’s locked in as the starter for Tennessee football entering his redshirt junior year, and he’s playing for an offensive coordinator this time in Jim Chaney who could allow him to shine.

Add in the fact that he and the entire offense are more acclimated to playing in a pro style and Jeremy Pruitt has added depth and talent to the unit as a whole, and Guarantano should take a major step forward. After last year was all about him being efficient and not messing up, he should be able to make big play after big play this year.

As one of the few guys locked into a starting position this year for the Vols, Guarantano has one of the best chances of anybody to make a splash for the pros. Pro Football Focus college ranked Guarantano as the second-highest graded quarterback in the SEC, behind only Tua Tagovailoa. So his pro potential is clear.

The last quarterback Chaney coached on Rocky Top, Tyler Bray, also left early for the NFL Draft. He wasn’t drafted, but he did come off a historic season with the Vols in terms of offensive production, and that bodes well for Guarantano. As a result, he’s one of the top guys on this list likely to leave early, so it made sense for us to put him in the top 5.
