A transfer from the Georgia Bulldogs, Deangelo Gibbs is the one player who is not at a position of immediate need transferring to Tennessee football. He’s also one of two guys who transferred and is not a junior college player, so his eligibility status is up in the air.

The question of whether or not he will play puts him in the bottom two in one category, and the need for him is at the bottom. When it comes to projected talent, he’s tied with one other player on this list for second.

Simply put, there’s only one player on this list you can compare Gibbs to when he has anything working in his favor, and that other player is clearly ahead of Gibbs in the two other factors making up our criteria. So the Georgia transfer is clearly at the bottom of this list. But don’t get it twisted. Being at the bottom of this list is doesn’t mean much because of how stacked the list is.

Gibbs was once a four-star athlete, and he played defensive back with Georgia. Jeremy Pruitt tried him out at wide receiver during the spring. That level of versatility gives Gibbs plenty of opportunities to be a huge impact player for the Vols, and you can bet that he’s likely to find room somewhere in the roster.
