Similar to Austin Pope, K’Rojhn Calbert is not yet a projected starter this year. But hailing from the tiny area of Warren County, Tenn., which is between Nashville and Knoxville but south of both, the redshirt sophomore offensive lineman made headway this past spring.

In the process, he made the first-team offense in Tennessee football’s spring game. At 6’5″ 330 pounds, Calbert is listed as one of the guys in the guard rotation, which has a couple of key returning starters in there now.

But if there’s just one injury, Calbert could end up becoming a starter. In fact, an injury at guard or center could result in him taking one of the spots. And he’s almost certain to be a regular guy in the offensive line rotation. We know that Jim Chaney likes to have as much depth up front as possible, meaning Calbert is going to be a key player for the Vols as they move guys around.

Simply put, the Vols have a huge body in Calbert, the type of player Jeremy Pruitt loves to work with. So you can definitely expect him to turn to Calbert a lot throughout the year. McMinnville is a rare place from within the state to produce some talent given its size, but Calbert could end up doing that town very proud.
