Tennessee football has four players who are in limbo for the 2019 season at this moment. Here is how they rank based on need for the Volunteers.
With a solid recruiting class that included two junior college transfers, lots of returning talent and two transfers from other schools, Jeremy Pruitt is doing a fabulous job of restocking the Tennessee football roster. And it’s providing some encouragement for 2019.
However, the best thing going for the Vols is that there are signs of encouragement for their roster without four guys who could still play this year. That may be a sigh of a bad break, but it’s also a sign of even greater potential.
Two transfers are currently waiting on their eligibility status from the NCAA, and two other players are waiting to be cleared to play following health issues and injuries. If all four of them are good to go, Tennessee football’s expectations shoot through the roof.
Despite the returning talent, there are plenty of questions surrounding the program, which we have been detailing and will continue to detail throughout the offseason. Getting these guys ready to go would alleviate a lot of those concerns.
But which player do the Vols want back the most? Whose return would make the biggest impact on the roster overall? In this post, we’re going to rank those four players in limbo based on how needed they are.
We’re basing this ranking off of what they’ve already proven, how good we project them to be given other data we have, and the need at the position they’re at. As you’re about to see, there’s a pretty significant improvement that could come with the return of some players.
Our post we’ll break down the current roster situations of each player’s position and also analyze where they would fit in. So let’s go ahead and analyze all of them. This is a ranking of the four players in limbo for Tennessee football based on how much of an impact they would make in their return to the Vols for 2019.
