Tennessee basketball junior forward Grant Williams will announce his NBA decision soon. Here’s an analysis on if he stays with the Volunteers or turns pro.

The outlook of the 2019-2029 Tennessee basketball season will be heavily impacted by a decision on Saturday. That is when Grant Williams determines if he stays in the NBA Draft or decides to return to the Vols for his senior season.

A two-time All-American and two-time SEC Player of the year, Williams is already one of the greatest player in UT history. He helped Rick Barnes turn the program on Rocky Top back into the national spotlight.

When you look at those accomplishments, it appears that Williams has little left to do with Tennessee basketball. After all, he also led the Vols to the Sweet 16 this past year and helped them capture a share of the SEC title the previous year.

With Admiral Schofield already gone and Jordan Bone likely to leave, Williams would also be returning to a program that looks very different than the one of the last two years. However, it’s clearly not a sealed deal.

Reports from people like Andy Katz have suggested very strongly that Williams truly appears to be unclear about what he wants to do. Why is that? What is keeping his decision on what to do with the pros in limbo?

Well, in this post we’re going to break down everything weighing into Williams’s draft decision. Our slideshow will include reasons for Williams to stay, reasons for him to go, hidden X-factors and what our final verdict on the scenario is.

Regardless of what happens, Williams is already one of the greatest players in school history. His play has been superb for the Vols, and even if he is slightly lacking in size, he brings a lot to the table for a pro team.

Everybody will know about what Williams does Saturday, but isn’t it fun to speculate at this point? Let’s go ahead and do that now. Here is our analysis as to whether or not Williams will stay in the NBA Draft or return to Tennessee basketball.
