Honorable mentions

Feb. 18, 2017: Tennessee beats Missouri 90-70

Grant Williams stat line: 25 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block

The first SEC game that was a win and where Grant Williams really stood out was this one. He hit 50 percent of his shots and was 12-of-13 from the foul line to show how elite he could be. However, the Missouri Tigers were so bad, and his efficiency wasn’t historic enough, that we couldn’t put it on the list.

Feb. 13, 2018: Tennessee beats South Carolina Gamecocks 70-67

Grant Williams stat line: 22 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks

Tennessee basketball needed Williams to come through in the clutch, and he did that here with a historic 70 percent shooting game from the field, going 7-of-10. Add in going 8-of-9 on free throws, and he had an amazing night. It was also a close win. But S.C. wasn’t great this year, and the raw totals weren’t enough for this to make the list.

Dec. 9, 2018: Tennessee beats No. 1 Gonzaga Bulldogs 76-73

Grant Williams stat line: 16 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 block

Admiral Schofield was the star of the Vols’ win over the No. 1 ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs. Without 20 points, we just couldn’t put this on the list overall. But Williams’ play still deserves recognition. When you drop a double-double against a top-ranked team, it matters, and adding seven assists is an incredible stat. Scoring just 16 points on just 46 percent shooting wasn’t enough for the top 10, though.

Jan. 5, 2019: Tennessee beats Georgia Bulldogs 96-50

Grant Williams stat line: 18 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assist, 1 block, 2 steals

Ridiculously high efficiency numbers is why this is on the list. Williams didn’t put up the necessary raw numbers with less than 20 points, even if he did have 8 rebounds and 5 assists, and the Georgia Bulldogs were terrible. But he was 4-of-5 from the field and 9-of-11 from the free throw line while hitting a three-pointer. That earns a spot on this list when it was only done in 24 minutes.

Jan. 29, 2019: Tennessee beats South Carolina Gamecocks 92-70

Grant Williams stat line: 23 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals

Again, we have to credit Williams for efficiency. He was 9-of-15 for those 23 points, and adding 9 rebounds and 4 steals are also noteworthy. He was again close to a 20-10-5 game while shooting 60 percent from the field. But it was against the South Carolina Gamecocks, who were bad this year, and he was only 5-of-8 from the foul line.
