There could be three former Tennessee basketball players drafted in the 2019 NBA Draft. Here is a look at the most recent NBA mock drafts.

There have only been a couple of years in the history of the Tennessee basketball program where three Vols were drafted in an NBA Draft. In 1977, Mike Jackson was drafted in the seventh round along with Bernard King and Ernie Grunfeld who went in the first 11 picks.

It also happened in 1950. However, that year there were 12 rounds when Art Burris, Ed Jones, and Ed Montgomery were drafted.

In the NBA Draft that we are used to with two rounds, the Vols haven’t had much success. But, this year could be different with Grant Williams, Admiral Schofield, and Jordan Bone all projected to at least have an opportunity to get drafted.

Grant Williams

CBSSports has Williams getting selected to the Portland Trailblazers with the No.25th pick in the first round. While the Golden State Warriors swept the Blazers in the Western Conference Finals, they still made it that far in the postseason.

Stadium has Williams going even higher at No.23 to the Utah Jazz. This is a solid fit for Williams with his high IQ. He will be able to play the team ball, especially if he can develop his long-range jumper.

NBC Sports and the Sporting news has Williams earning a first-round selection while Sports Illustrated has him dropping to the late 30s thanks to a mediocre NBA Draft Combine.

Admiral Schofield

Admiral Schofield is still gathering some first-round love despite not showing much at the NBA Combine.

CBSSports is really high on Schofield; in fact, the highest I could find from all mock drafts. In their mock draft, Schofield is listed to go to the Utah Jazz with the 23rd pick in the first round. Sports Illustrated who isn’t high on Williams has Schofield dropping to the Atlanta Hawks with the 44th pick.

Jordan Bone

Arguably a player that helped their stock the most, Jordan Bone has shown up on an NBA mock draft. Sports Illustrated has Bone being selected with the 59th pick to the Toronto Raptors.

As draft day approaches, the more mock drafts will begin to shape. It will be interesting to see if Bone did enough to be the third former Vol draft in the 2019 draft.
