The SEC schedule was released for college basketball yesterday, and the Tennessee basketball team didn’t get any favors on road opponents. Here is a look at the SEC slate.

The new look Tennessee basketball team got a little bit more information on their schedule next season or the SEC slate that is. The dates and times are still to be announced, but the opponents are set in stone.

The Vols have five conference foes that play a home-and-home series against. Those teams include Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Auburn, and Arkansas. Other games you can catch at Thompson Boling Arena are Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.

The away games that aren’t doubled up are Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State, and Missouri.

A quick glance will display a league of uncertainty from many teams. Arkansas, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and Alabama all have fires year head coaches at the school. LSU and Auburn shouldn’t be as dominant as last season. You would think South Carolina takes a step back after losing Chris Silva and Ole Miss lost a lot of veteran talent.

However, that doesn’t mean the league isn’t filled with talented players.

When the dates for the games get determined the schedule could appear more manageable, nonetheless, winning on the road is going to be difficult.

One game that stands out is the road trip to Georgia. The Bulldogs signed the eighth best-recruiting class in 2019. Five-star shooting guard from Atlanta, GA led the way as the second overall player in the class. Tom Crean also signed four more Top-100 players in the 2019 class.

Looking at the league and where the games fall, if the Vols can somehow manage an 11-7 conference record, I think most people would call that a success.

Tennessee will be an inexperienced bunch in most games, but if they can steal a couple on the road, they could surprise people like they did two years ago.
