Similar to Cheyenne Labruzza, K’Rojhn Calbert missed all of the 2017 due to a knee injury. He actually suffered multiple knee injuries and had to have surgery. Also similar to Labruzza, Calbert worked his way into the first team rotation during Tennessee football’s 2019 spring practices.

Finally, similar to Labruzza, Calbert looks like a rotational guy at his position where Jeremy Pruitt recruited a lot of help this offseason. All of that puts Calbert on the list but keeps him low on it. The reason we have him above Labruzza is the desperation on the offensive line and the fact that Calbert suffered multiple knee injuries, not just one.

The Vols were historically bad up front last year, whereas they were okay at defensive back. As a result, they are much less likely to be able to afford injuries to key guys in the rotation at this position, and that is what puts Calbert here.

There’s a good chance Calbert becomes the No. 3 guard in the rotation, and if an injury occurs anywhere on the line, he could become a starter. So Pruitt and new offensive coordinator Jim Chaney will need him badly. That 2017 season-ending injury due to multiple knee issues is a concern as a result.
