Trevon Flowers joins Riley Locklear as the second guy on this list to miss a significant portion of 2018. As a freshman who played in the secondary rotation last year, Flowers missed half the season due to a broken collarbone.

Now, though, Flowers is a key player Tennessee football doesn’t want to lose. The Vols had an opening at safety with Todd Kelly Jr. and Micah Abernathy graduating last year, and Flowers looks like the target to start there alongside Nigel Warrior. His potential is through the roof, and given the inconsistencies last year at the position, there could be a major upgrade.

As a result, Flowers is the first guy on this list who looks like a starter if he stays healthy. Combine that with the fact that he did miss a significant time of a more recent season, he brings a big injury concern to Rocky Top. In fact, he’s probably the first major injury concern player on here, given his value to the team.

Once a three-star recruit, Flowers demonstrated when healthy last year that he was heavily underrated. Jeremy Pruitt knew what he was doing when targeting this guy. However, if Flowers doesn’t get the chance to put that on display due to another injury, it could negatively affect the Vols’ entire secondary.
