Tennessee basketball: Admiral Schofield is saying all the right things
Former Vol Admiral Schofield is going through pre-draft workouts with multiple teams. Recently he worked out with the Utah Jazz, and he said all the right things.
Like Grant Williams. Admiral Schofield is making his rounds around the NBA working out for multiple teams. Most recently Schofield was apart of a group that worked out for the Utah Jazz.
The Jazz have the 23rd pick in the first-round. And, Schofield seems like an excellent fit for a team right there in the Western Conference.
Schofield will probably never be the James Harden’s, Kevin Durant’s, or other superstars of the NBA. However, he does have an opportunity to make a long productive career at the next level with his attitude, work ethic, and defense.
After the workout, Schofield asked questions from the media, and he was very candid with his responses.
“I want to be a junkyard dog,” Schofield said.
At Tennessee last season we saw that type of player a couple of times. Schofield developed into one of the best scorers on the team, and some games he had to take over offensively or Tennessee would have lost. But, one thing that goes unnoticed because his offense was so good, was his defense.
Schofield was mentioned, “The Jazz wanted to see if I can guard.” Guarding the perimeter on the NBA level is much different than college. However, Schofield has the speed, athleticism, and mental ability to be a great defender. Schofield went on to say, “I know my role is to be able to guard on the perimeter.”
If you are an NBA team, you are getting a player in Schofield that will be a positive role model for children and a presence in the community. And, a very talented basketball player looking to get better every single practice.
It’s been a mixed bag of projections for Schofield in the 2019 NBA Draft. Some mock drafts have him finding a home as early as No.23 to the Utah Jazz. The Milwaukee Bucks have also been mocked to drafting Schofield with the 30th pick in the first round.
