With a lot of teams showing interest in Grant Williams, he is a for sure first-round draft pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. The question is, where will he land?

On Friday the Atlanta Hawks announced Grant Williams as one of their participates for their workout. Others included Brandon Clarke (Gonzaga), Jaylen Hands (UCLA), Louis King (Oregon), Jalen McDaniels (San Diego State), and Eric Paschall (Villanova).

The Hawks have the 8th and 10th picks in the first round. While no one thinks Williams will go that high, Atlanta does have three other selections in the second round. Taking a flyer that earlier would be a surprise but 10-25 as far as players go are very similar.

To this point, Williams has worked out for the Golden State Warriors who desperately need a 3-4 type of player. Kevin Durant’s future is uncertain, and Andre Iguodala is getting older, and both are nursing injuries right now.

Grant has been filmed recently working out, and his three-point stroke looked good. It looked good last year with the Vols; he just didn’t take as many as he could have. Williams finished the season with only 46 three-point attempts connecting on 15 of them.

Another team that could be in the running for the back-to-back SEC Player of the Year is the Utah Jazz. There have been a few mock drafts place Williams at No.23 to the Jazz. Utah won 50 games in 18-19 which was the second time in five seasons under Quin Snyder.

One other team that we know Williams has worked out for is the Phoenix Suns. The workout in the desert is a bit weird. The Suns have the overall 6th pick in the draft and Williams shouldn’t go that high. The next pick falls at No.32 in the second round, and while that makes sense, Williams shouldn’t fall below 28th to the Golden State Warriors.

These are just the teams we know about. And, Williams probably still has some workouts in his future as the 2019 NBA Draft draws closer. The draft will be held on June 20th.
