Pulling away from linemen for a minute, Tennessee football now has a bit of an opening at linebacker. Darrin Kirkland Jr. was forced to retire due to nagging injuries, and that leaves an opening to start at inside linebacker alongside Daniel Bituli.

Sure, Will Ignont brings the experience there. JJ Peterson is a guy with potential. And Shanon Reid and Solon Page III were both standout spring performers. But nobody is locked into that starting role yet, especially with the versatility Jeremy Pruitt expects from Quavaris Crouch.

As a result, a four-star summer enrollee at this position, which is indeed loaded, is in our top three players who could have an impact. The Vols pulled off a major recruiting heist getting Henry To’oto’o to commit to them on National Signing Day. A four-star on Rivals, the Northern California prospect stands at 6’2″ 210 pounds.

To’oto’o is ranked the No. 3 player at his position nationally, a top 100 player overall, and the No. 13 player in the state of California. So he brings a ton of hype with him, and that raw talent makes him a guy with lots of potential to immediately become a starter or at least a rotational guy. If Kirkland were still on here, To’oto’o would be further down. But now, things are interesting.
