We go from Memphis to Nashville, from West Tennessee to Middle Tennessee, for the next Tennessee football summer enrollee who is an offensive lineman. And Jackson Lampley comes to Rocky Top with a bit more hype.

A four-star on Rivals, Lampley was the No. 14 ranked player nationally at his position and the No. 10 ranked player in the state of Tennessee. His generic hype is the main reason we have him ahead of Melvin McBride, who is a three-star, as we already mentioned, and is the No. 18 ranked player at his position and No. 17 ranked player in the state.

So the differences aren’t too drastic, but they’re there. Lampley just brings a bit more of a chance to start. Again, even with Wanya Morris making a splash as an early enrollee and Chris Akporoghene getting an early chance to develop, Lampley is a guy who could work his way into the lineup.

But he’s only slightly above McBride, so the big thing keeping him No. 6 on our list is the desperate need Jeremy Pruitt has at offensive line. Being a four-star just gives him a slight boost and a bit of hope as well. If he doesn’t play this year, he’s likely to be a major impact player in the future.
