Top elite prospects for Vols at OL

Chris Morris; 4-star

6’5″ 275 lbs; Memphis, Tenn.; Central High School

Nobody who is a four-star or higher on Rivals on the offensive line from the state of Tennessee should go anywhere but the Vols, and Chris Morris is an elite talent. A Memphis prospect, Morris is listed as a guard with his 6’5″ 275-pound frame. To make him more valuable, he is the No. 31 ranked player overall and the top-ranked player in his position and in the state.

Tennessee football is in contention with the Texas A&M Aggies, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes and Arkansas Razorbacks to land him. However, while the Rivals FanFutureCast has UT as the favorite to land him by a plurality, the FutureCast has A&M as the unanimous favorite to get him. There are no 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions, but the Vols have to work to keep him.

Marcus Henderson; 3-star

6’4″ 290 lbs; Memphis, Tenn.; Memphis University School

He’s only a three-star on Rivals, but Marcus Henderson is a four-star on 247Sports and another highly-rated prospect from Memphis. As a result, he remains a guy the Vols should have at the top of their priority list. Being listed as the first offensive tackle target makes him even more critical as a prospect Pruitt doesn’t want to see leave the state.

The Vols are competing with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes and Ole Miss Rebels to land him, and there are not official favorites yet despite the Rivals FanFutureCast giving the Arkansas Razorbacks the edge, randomly, by a majority. As a top 50 tackle nationally and top 20 player in the state, he should remain a top target for the Vols.

Junior College offers at OL

Tairiq Stewart; NR (JuCo)

6’6″ 340 lbs; Asa College (Brooklyn, N.Y.); Brooklyn, N.Y.

Tennessee football is competing with the Maryland Terrapins right now to land Tairiq Stewart. He has a three-star rating on 247Sports but no rating on Rivals yet as a junior college player, but at 6’6″ 340 pounds, he’s certainly a guy UT could use at tackle to build even more depth there.

The Vols are going to need more help at tackle in the future, and Stewart would be a great addition. There are no favorites to land him yet, but he certainly helps to stock up the program beyond 2020.

Antwan Reed; NR (JuCo)

6’6″ 330 lbs; Asa College (Brooklyn, N.Y.); Muskegon, Mich.

Another guy with no rating on Rivals, Antwan Reed doesn’t yet have a rating on 247Sports either. And there are no favorites to land him. However, he was once a four-star coming out of high school, and as a junior college transfer, the Vols need to get in on him early.

That’s why we have him on this page as a top prospect and not a potential prospect. Reed is listed as another tackle and could definitely restock depth there, but UT will likely have to fend off the Florida State Seminoles, Marshall Thundering Herd and UAB Blazers to land him.
