Evaluating Tennessee football’s 2020 recruiting class at dead period: Vols Secondary
Top prospects for Vols at CB
Jamorri Colson; 3-star
5’11” 165 lbs; Ocilla, Ga.; Irwin County High School
A three-star, Jamorri Colson is the No. 41 ranked player at cornerback nationally. He’s down to Tennessee football, the Auburn Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Nebraska Cornhuskers, South Carolina Gamecocks. But Auburn is the unanimous favorite on the Rivals FutureCast and majority favorite on the FanFutureCast to land him. There are no 247Sports Crystal Ball picks yet.
Kendall Dennis; 3-star
5’11” 172 lbs; Lakeland, Fla.; Kathleen High School
Kendall Dennis is another three-star who is looking at the Vols, the Auburn Tigers and the Miami Hurricanes. There are no official predictions for him yet, but the Rivals FanFutureCast randomly has the Florida State Seminoles as the favorite by a plurality to land him. A Florida prospect, he’d be a speedy pickup for UT. Jeremy Pruitt could definitely use him for more depth.
Kendrick Simpkins; 3-star
6’0″ 191 lbs; Montgomery, Ala.; Robert E. Lee High School
Back to Pruitt’s neck of the woods for this guy, Kendrick Simpkins is a three-star who is looking at Rocky Top, the Florida Atlantic Owls, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Colorado Buffaloes and the Kansas Jayhawks. He would be another solid pickup with decent size for the Vols, but with no official predictions, the Rivals FanFutureCast has Nebraska as a near-unanimous favorite.
