The Tennessee Vols had numerous great athletic moments in the 2018-2019 academic year. Here are the 10 best for the Volunteers.

With SEC Media Days set to begin next week, it’s about time to start looking ahead to what’s in store for Tennessee Vols athletics in 2018-2019. Coming of Phillip Fulmer’s first full season as athletic director,, though, there is a lot to reflect on before that happens.

After all, the 2018-2019 season involved two first-year head coaches, including in Tennessee football, historical firsts in multiple other sports, including Tennessee basketball, and the ending of a major drought in one, Tennessee baseball. So there were plenty of exciting things happening on Rocky Top this past year, even in a sport that struggled like Tennessee women’s basketball.

Although some of the major sports did not live up to par when it comes to their expectations, they all still had some things that left fans happy. And it’s hard to see the Tennessee Vols not building on that for this year.

Before looking ahead to next year, we should reflect on those exciting things. After all, there were plenty of great moments that deserve recognition. In this post, we’re going to do our best to break those moments down.

Our criteria for these moments do weigh the importance of the sport, but it also takes into account what type of moment it was. Did UT score a major win? Was there a milestone accomplishment? How much history went into something that happened?

These are all things that matter when ranking top moments. Also, we have to define what qualifies as a moment. It can be anything from a win to a seasonal accomplishment to something that was done over a stretch of time.

Whether it was by luck of timing or something to do with a move he made, Fulmer certainly saw some successes his first year as A.D. And they were things he probably enjoyed as much as he enjoyed just being back in a role with the university.

So let’s look back on some of these things he enjoyed. Note that he and the athletic department will be hoping to build on this in the future. Here is our ranking of the top 10 athletic moments from the Tennessee Vols 2018-2019 academic school year.
