Tennessee football enters 2019 fall camp with lots of excitement but many questions. Here are five major storylines for the Volunteers.

August has arrived. Tennessee football will play its first game of 2019 this month. And entering Jeremy Pruitt’s second season, fans are cautiously optimistic about the Vols having a major turnaround after a 5-7 record in 2018.

However, with fall camp set to begin, there are lots of questions and concerns still surrounding the program. We know quite a few things about this team based on the personnel changes, what we saw last year and what we saw in the spring.

But for fall camp, there are some specific questions we’re not sure about. In this post, we’re going to break down those questions and how they apply to Tennessee football for this year. These are answers Pruitt will be searching for throughout the month of August.

Whether or not he finds them, and how many he finds, could be what determines this season. If none of these things are solved, then, well, the Vols are likely in for another really bad year. However, if he can address some of them, they could be destined for a turnaround. And if all of them are fully answered, then a surprisingly good season is on the way.

We don’t know for sure how it’s all going to work out, but that’s what makes fall camp exciting. It would be more exciting if Pruitt and the coaches were honest about what they were seeing in August, but that’s one thing we can predict isn’t going to happen. The hope is that they just don’t flat-out lie like Butch Jones and his staff did.

Anyway, let’s go ahead and take a look at what Pruitt has to figure out for this year. And he has a month to figure these things out. These are our five biggest storylines for Tennessee football heading into 2019 fall camp.
