Jeremy Pruitt’s second season with Tennessee football figures to be a major step forward. Here is our prediction for all 12 Volunteers games.

The college football season starts this Saturday, including SEC play, and Tennessee football will begin a week after that. Simply put, the sport is back, and Christmas has pretty much arrived for everybody who is a fan.

Now it’s time for the fun. What are the Vols’ chances of having a turnaround year after going 5-7 last year and losing six games by 25 or more points? Is Jeremy Pruitt poised for a breakout season his second year on the job?

With a very hospitable 2019 schedule, including eight games at home and no teams from a Power Five conference or even affiliated with one in non-conference play, Tennessee football’s goal of making a bowl game is very realistic this year. And they may even have higher expectations.

Good coaches often take off in their second year, so ideally Pruitt would like to see his team do more than just make a bowl with this schedule. After all, despite inheriting a bigger mess than most coaches at major programs inherit, he returns a lot of starters on both sides of the ball to go with that much easier schedule.

Some predictions have the Vols winning as many as nine regular seasons games. Others, however, have them winning maybe five. So there is a pretty big range in their best to worst case scenario, but what’s going to happen?

Well, despite a couple of questions still surrounding the team, it’s time for us to come out with our predictions on the year. As we do to start every season, we are going to predict every game on the slate and give a score before predicting what bowl game they will make and who they will play, if they end up getting that far.

This is the start of our preview for the 2019 season, which is just days away. So let’s get started with Rocky Top. Here are our predictions for all 12 Tennessee football games this year and potentially a postseason game.
