Tennessee football begins its second college football season under Jeremy Pruitt. Here are our overall predictions for the 2018 national and SEC standings.
While the focus for Tennessee football this year is to reach a bowl, maybe get into the top 25 and compete with some of the big-name teams, many teams have bigger goals this college football season. From conference titles to national championships to Heisman Trophies, there are sky-high expectations across the landscape.
Whatever role the Vols play in that, whether it be staking their own claims or spoiling the hopes of other programs, is the storyline for Jeremy Pruitt’s second year on the job. And it’s plenty of reason for excitement.
But what about the rest of the college football season? Who is set to dominate the SEC? What about the best player in the nation? Which SEC teams will make bowl games, what teams will win their conferences, and what teams will make the College Football Playoff?
Well, that’s what this post is about. With the season set to begin Saturday, it’s time for us to make all of our predictions for the year. We already made our picks for the Vols, but now we’re going to do it for everything else.
Our predictions will be broken up into five slides. First, we’ll give our projected SEC standings for both divisions along with who we project to meet in the SEC Championship and actually come away with the title.
After that, though, we go a bit more national. We’ll have our Heisman Trophy prediction on the next slide, followed by our projected bowl matchups involving SEC teams. Then we’ll do our projections for New Year’s Six games and College Football Playoff games before projecting our national champion.
So here are the slides overall: SEC standings and champion, Heisman winner and candidates, SEC bowl games, New Year’s Six bowl games, and College Football Playoff results. It’s time to get excited about the sport being back. Here are all of our major predictions for the 2019 college football season.
