As they continue their preparations for the start of the 2019 season, the Tennessee Vols football program made noise on Wednesday with the addition of a new commitment for its 2020 class. Meanwhile, they continue to make news for us to cover.

Our morning update on Rocky Top leads with another fall camp practice being held and many players speaking with the media ahead of time. We’ll cover each of those things separately and what they mean.

However, there is also more news with the start of the women’s soccer season. Basically, fall sports begin today for UT, so things can’t get more exciting. Let’s get started with the football practice coverage.

Tennessee football players talk fall camp – Rocky Top Insider

Ahead of another practice Wednesday, five Tennessee Vols football players met with the media to discuss fall camp. Josh Palmer, Marcus Tatum, Nigel Warrior and LaTrell Bumphus were all part of that. Warrior said the secondary has improved and everybody is playing multiple positions. Palmer noted that they are coming together in Jim Chaney’s offense. Butler and Bumphus both talked about embracing their roles on the defensive line. And Tatum said he wants to make a difference and hit the biggest note by talking about losing and being a member of the offensive line. Here’s a bit of what he said.

"“I’m just tired of losing. It’s really embarrassing to go out there and have everybody blame it on us. It usually is our fault most of the time.”"

Tennessee Vols football practiced Wednesday with their full 120-man roster for the first time. They were in full pads and practiced outside at Haslam Field with the season 10 days away.

"Two periods of Wednesday’s practice were open to media. The early portion of the practice featured some routes-on-air work for the Vols’ quarterbacks and wide receivers, along with senior tight end Dominick Wood-Anderson, while a couple of Tennessee’s young defensive linemen got some one-on-one work with coach Jeremy Pruitt."
