Entering its second year under head coach Jeremy Pruitt, Tennessee football has lots of impact players. Here are the top 10 Volunteers for 2019.

We have just about reached the start of the season. Tennessee football enters 2019 expecting to take a big leap from 2018, a year in which they went 5-7 and lost six games by 25 or more points. With more experience and a healthier program, the Vols have lots of potential.

But if they are going to turn things around for the whole year, there are obviously key guys who will help them do it. These aren’t just the dark-horse players we have been naming, the ones who simply stood out in fall camp or the ones who may have had a good spring and bring potential.

For Tennessee football to turn things around, the Vols need their key, top players to live up to their expectations and raise their level of play. Despite their issues last year, they had plenty of standout talent. That talent is mostly back and needs to continue what it did.

In this post, two days out before the season, we are going to look at those Vols. These are not just the players UT can least afford to lose, and they aren’t the ones even most likely to win postseason awards. Our list solely looks at the best players on the team.

Yes, the criteria here is simple. All they have to do is meet the level of talent we expect them to have and be available to go. That second part, for instance, leaves sophomore cornerback Bryce Thompson off this list since he is suspended indefinitely and may not be able to go all season.

Although that was horrible news, Jeremy Pruitt still has plenty of talent to work with. And he will turn to key guys all year in order to have a successful season. So which players are these? Who will be the top guys on Rocky Top? Find out with our list here of the top 10 Vols for Tennessee football’s 2019 season.
