Arkansas Razorbacks at Ole Miss Rebels

TV: SEC Network; Line: Ole Miss -6.5; Over/Under: 50.5

Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. E.T.; Vaught-Hemingway Stadium; Oxford, Miss.

So now we’ve got a matchup that could be for the final SEC team to make a bowl game when the end of the year comes. One team lost to a Group of Five program last week, just like Tennessee football, and the other beat an FCS program. But both have lots to be concerned about, as they both looked ugly.

The Arkansas Razorbacks did not look like they had taken a step forward in Chad Morris’s offense. They beat the Portland State Vikings by a hideous score of 20-13 and look like they could be the exact same team they were last year. That’s incredibly scary for them as they have their first SEC test on the road this week.

Meanwhile, the Ole Miss Rebels were underdogs against the Memphis Tigers last week. The concern, though, was the fact that their offense couldn’t get anything going as their defense stepped up. What does that mean against a Hogs team led by SEC veteran defensive coordinator, and Vol legend, John Chavis on that side of the ball?

Prediction

It’s impossible to know if Arkansas’s horrible play was a fluke last week, and the same is true with Ole Miss’s horrible offense. But that’s all we have to go on, so for now we say take the Under in this game. Meanwhile, Ole Miss did look significantly better against maybe the best Group of Five program in the country. So we’re taking them to pull this one out and cover at home.

Ole Miss: 20 Arkansas: 10 (Ole Miss -6.5; Under 50.5)
