Murray State Racers at No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs
TV: ESPN2
Saturday, Sept. 7 at 4 p.m. E.T.; Sanford Stadium; Athens, Ga.
From the best team in the SEC West to the best team in the SEC East in terms of talent, the Georgia Bulldogs dominated in a sleeper performance against the Vanderbilt Commodores last week. Now, they get an even significantly easier opponent this Saturday, as they face the FCS Murray State Racers.
This is a team that went 5-6 at its level last year. They did get off to a 59-20 win over an NAIA team in Pikeville, but expectations in 2019 are incredibly low for this program under fifth-year head coach Mitch Stewart. Given those facts, it’ll be hard to watch what UGA may be able to do to them on Saturday.
Heck, it’ll be hard to see what Georgia does to Tennessee football in a few weeks. Facing an FCS team with the amount of insane talent Kirby Smart has brought into the program is something that should almost be illegal. There’s no legitimate line here since both teams aren’t FBS, so we can only give you an up or down prediction.
Prediction
Seriously? Do we have to predict this one? Is there any doubt as to what’s going to happen? Okay. Georgia wins by 1,000 points. Anyway, the over/under and line don’t matter here, so all we have to say is the Dawgs dominate. Given their ball-control offense, though, they won’t hit the 60s. So this game is a resounding yawn.
