844. . 2-1 (0-1). Previous: . Razorbacks . 12. team

For the first time in the Chad Morris era, the Arkansas Razorbacks have won a game to prove they may be above the bottom tier of not just SEC schools but Power Five and even FBS schools in general. That’s what played out with their impressive 55-34 victory over the Colorado State Rams this past weekend.

After losing that game last year by a touchdown, we can safely say now that Morris’s team is improving. That was somewhat of a watershed game, and the offense is finally beginning to look like what it was supposed to look like when Morris took over. That means they are clearly above the two bottom schools in our SEC Power Rankings.

But it’s not enough to move them up the list. With apologies to them, they still haven’t beaten a Power Five school yet, and that touchdown win over Portland State still looks bad. We’ll begin to give this team a bit more love as the year goes on if they look like they did last Saturday.

That includes a chance to get to 3-1 with a home game against the San Jose State Spartans this week. They also get the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and Missouri Tigers at home down the stretch of the year along with the Kentucky Wildcats on the road. So seven wins is now on the table. That’s how big Saturday was.
