822. . 2-1 (0-0). Previous: . Tigers . 8. team

Similar to the Ole Miss Rebels, the Missouri Tigers had a rough loss to a Group of Five team on the road to start the season, falling to the Wyoming Cowboys. But they gave that game away with too many turnovers, and they have righted the ship since then, dominating the West Virginia Mountaineers and shutting out the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks this past weekend 50-0.

As a result, Barry Odom’s team was able to take a bit of a jump in our SEC Power Rankings. Wyoming is currently sitting at 3-0, so they aren’t looking like a horrible loss, and Mizzou is starting to figure things out.

Kelly Bryant just needed to get into a rhythm in Derek Dooley’s offense, and now this team is dangerous. Add in the fact that the defense has been stepping up somewhat, and this looks like another team that could maybe give the Georgia Bulldogs some trouble in the SEC East race.

But they have to win this weekend to do so, as they face the South Carolina Gamecocks at home. Following that they face the Troy Trojans before hosting the Ole Miss Rebels and visiting the Vanderbilt Commodores. All of those games are winnable to get to 6-1, and then they face the next team on this list with a shot at 7-1.
