San Jose State Spartans at Arkansas Razorbacks

Line: Arkansas -20.5; Over/Under: 61; TV: SEC Network

Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m. E.T.; Razorback Stadium; Fayetteville, Ark.

A major congratulations to the Arkansas Razorbacks. They shocked us last week by actually covering and pulling out a win over a Group of Five team, proving they belong in a tier above Tennessee football and the Vanderbilt Commodores for now. At 2-1, they also may have a chance to now get on a roll.

After all, the offense appears to have finally come together. Now that they may have figured out Chad Morris’s spread, John Chavis’s defense could get things going a bit more easily. And who knows? The momentum is all of a sudden through the roof.

Heading into Fayetteville are the San Jose State Spartans. This team is coming off a bye after losing by 18 at home to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Before that they had an ugly win over Northern Colorado. A team that went 1-11 last year and didn’t return a ton of production on either side is not looking in too good of shape so far.

Prediction

We’ve religiously bet against Arkansas over the past year. That changed with how they closed out against Colorado State last week. The offense seems to have figured it out, and it’s enough for us to say they’ll beat San Jose State and cover this weekend. Take the under, though, because the Spartans won’t score enough.

Arkansas: 45 San Jose State: 14 (Arkansas -20.5; Under 61)
