Tennessee football: Photo gallery from Vols’ 34-3 loss to Florida Gators
There is nothing to really relive here from Tennessee football’s perspective. Here is our photo gallery from the Volunteer’s loss at Florida.
Well that was painful. Once again, Tennessee football falls victim to the Florida Gators. The Vols continue to look like their little-brother, and as we’ve been saying for a while now, it’s extremely hard to call this a rivalry game.
The Gators scored a touchdown on the opening drive with Kyle Trask in at quarterback due to Feleipe Franks’s season-ending injury, and the Vols were never able to get anything going. Their defense kept it a came through most of the first half, but eventually Florida pulled away.
A touchdown as time expired in the first half to make it 17-0 assured that Florida would remain in control. Jeremy Pruitt tried a spark with Brian Maurer in the second half, but it only worked on one drive. Florida eventually pulled away to win 34-3.
Again, this is a game everybody on Rocky Top wants to forget. It didn’t even have some of the intrigue that other previous Tennessee-Florida games do. But if you want to look back on it, you have come to the right place. Here is a photo gallery from Tennessee football’s horrific road loss to the Florida Gators to fall to 1-3.
As you can see, there are lots more Florida photos than Vols photos. That obviously makes sense. The Gators were starting a backup quarterback in Kyle Trask who led them to a come-from-behind victory on the road last week at the Kentucky Wildcats, and he threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns in this game.
It’s pretty clear Florida is a much more relevant storyline than the Vols right now, and they showed that in a big way. UT now enters its bye week, and Jeremy Pruitt has a ton of work to do. At 1-3 with no wins over an FBS program, Tennessee football looks worse than ever. And they showed regression in this game, so there is clearly a lot to fix.
