2. Florida errors were only outdone by Vols errors.

The Gators tried to give UT this game. After all, they had three turnovers. But the Vols kept making mistakes and completely failed to cash in on every Florida mistake, which is why they managed to lose this game.

Tennessee football’s mistakes were more common and made things worse. It started with a  K’Rojhn Calbert penalty to kill the first drive. However, Florida, on the ensuing possession, turned it over twice.

They first had a fumble, but Warren Burrell accidentally stepped out of bounds before recovering it. Still, they got a strip-sack on Kyle Trask two plays later. And the Vols used that momentum to drive inside the Florida five-yard line with a chance to tie it up.

They made it 2nd and goal from the three-yard line. But then Jim Chaney threw it twice, and on 3rd and goal from the two-yard line, Jauan Jennings had a pass bounce off his face mask in the end zone, and the ball was intercepted.

Then, on a later drive, Guarantano had Dominick Wood-Anderson wide open for what would have been a game-tying touchdown, still down 7-0. But he overthrew him. He threw an interception two plays later to set up a 10-0 Florida lead.

In the second half, now down 17-3, Trask threw two interceptions. But one only came after a Brian Maurer interception. UT was only able to punt on that ensuing possession. They followed the second pick up with a drive into Florida territory, only to see Eric Gray fumble the ball.
