It may be unfair to have the Florida Gators down here in our SEC Power Rankings. After all, they are 4-0 and remain the only team in the league to have beaten three Power Five programs, one at home, one on the road and one at a neutral site. However, none of those programs look like quality wins at this point despite their status.

Beating the Tennessee Vols 34-3 at home means almost nothing when UT lost to the Georgia State Panthers and BYU Cougars in Knoxville. A comeback win over a Kentucky Wildcats team that just lost to the Mississippi State Bulldogs is also questionable, as is beating a Miami Hurricanes team that lost to the North Carolina Tar Heels two weeks later.

However, that does not mean that they haven’t started to look better. Kyle Trask replacing Feleipe Franks seems to have given this offense a lot more versatility, and Dan Mullen could really get things going in Gainesville with it in the future.

A home games against the Towson Tigers this week gives him another chance to correct some things. However, then comes their stretch run, as they face the Auburn Tigers at home, the LSU Tigers and South Carolina Gamecocks on the road and then the Georgia Bulldogs after a bye. So the defining parts of their season are about to come.
