The criticism of the Georgia Bulldogs is that they didn’t cover and blow out a Notre Dame Fighting Irish team that made the College Football Playoff last year. They apparently are in trouble for only beating them 23-17. Seriously. Who thinks like that? Why can’t they be celebrated for scoring a huge top 10 victory? That’s how we look at it.

Combining that with their dominance over the Vanderbilt Commodores shows that UGA has a quality win, two Power Five wins and continues to do what they’re supposed to do against weaker competition. There’s nothing to worry about right now with this team, and the big win over the weekend was more than enough to move them up in our SEC Power Rankings.

Kirby Smart’s team remains a complete team. They played another very good team over the weekend and got a very good win in the process. As a result, this is still a complete team with an elite defense and an offense that can do whatever it wants to do.

Georgia now gets a bye after such a big win, and they can even get better coming off it with easy games at the Tennessee Vols and at home against the South Carolina Gamecocks and Kentucky Wildcats. They don’t get another test until November, when they face the Florida Gators. Until then, this team is likely to keep rolling.
