2-2 (0-1). Previous: . Razorbacks . 12. team. 844.

Honestly, you could make a case to put the Arkansas Razorbacks below the Vanderbilt Commodores in our SEC Power Rankings. After all, they have a win against an FCS program and a Group of Five program, while they have a loss against a Power Five program and a Group of Five program. Vanderbilt has three losses against Power Five schools, two of whom are in the top five.

Losing at home 31-24 to the San Jose State Spartans a week after beating the Colorado State Rams 55-34 shows this team is clearly not at the level it needs to be at in Chad Morris’s second year, and panic in Fayetteville may be as great as it is on Rocky Top with Jeremy Pruitt. The Hogs clearly have problems after that game.

However, that 21-point victory over Colorado State still counts for something, even though their season-opening 20-13 win over Portland State doesn’t, so we’re keeping them here for now. That could change in a hurry, though.

Up next for Arkansas is a game against the Texas A&M Aggies, whom they always play close regardless of where the teams stand. Then they have a bye before facing the Kentucky Wildcats on the road. A split over the next two games may be enough to provide some hope for this team, but until then, we have to say they are in our bottom tier.
