Arkansas Razorbacks vs. No. 23 Texas A&M Aggies

Line: Texas A&M -23.5; Over/Under: 58; TV: ESPN

Saturday, Sept. 28 at Noon E.T.; AT&T Stadium; Arlington, Texas

We start our college football predictions with a game that is always harder to predict than it seems. Both the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Texas A&M Aggies let us down last week, as we picked both teams to cover their spreads, and not only did they not cover, but they lost at home straight-up. It was embarrassing.

Now, once again the two meet in Arlington. Arkansas is clearly a tease under Chad Morris. They first blow out the Colorado State Rams and then lose to the San Jose State Spartans? Who is this team? The offense appears to be there, but John Chavis’s defense does not seem like it is up to snuff just yet.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M was a major disappointment at home against the Auburn Tigers in a loss. Kellen Mond has not taken that necessary step under Jimbo Fisher, and we wonder when he actually will. At 2-2, though, they need to figure out a way to get on a roll, and dominating their former Big 12 rival in Texas may be a start.

Prediction

This game will be an easy win for the Aggies. However, it is almost always closer than it is expected, and Arkansas is a hard team to predict this year. So Texas A&M does NOT cover the 23.5-point spread. Arkansas’s defensive issues, however, assure that this game will hit the over.

Texas A&M: 38 Arkansas: 24 (Arkansas +23.5; Over 58)
