Does Tennessee football have any chance of pulling off an upset against the UGA Dawgs Saturday? Here are five UT Volunteers to watch for if it happens.
Well this is a great way to come off a bye, right? Tennessee football is 1-3, lost 34-3 to the Florida Gators in their last outing, is yet to beat an FBS school, and now has to face the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night in front of a nationally televised audience.
Could it get any worse for Jeremy Pruitt? It was already going to be hard enough to avoid a blowout loss en route to a 1-4 record, but he now has to deal with the Jeremy Banks saga three days ahead of this outing.
Simply put, there are lots of reasons to be concerned about Tennessee football heading into this one. Can anybody step up and make this interesting, or will it be a complete disaster from the opening kickoff?
In this post, that’s what we’re going to try to break down. The Vols, for all their flaws, do have some weapons on their team. And Georgia has shown just a few vulnerabilities. So maybe there is enough for UT to take advantage.
Okay, that’s a stretch. But they have to play the game on Saturday, so we have to give it some sort of coverage. As we get set to look at the key Vols in this game, we’ll base it on what players have done to the Dawgs in the past and which players can exploit any potential weaknesses Kirby Smart’s team may have.
There is a solid combination of the two to potentially make this a game, especially since it’s in Knoxville, but it will be extremely difficult. Rocky Top could hit its lowest moment over the weekend with who it’s playing.
But which players can help nullify that? Who can step up for Pruitt coming off the bye week? Let’s take a look here. These are the five key Vols to pay attention to when Tennessee football hosts the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday night.
