There is a clear favorite when Tennessee football faces UGA on Saturday. Here are the keys to the game for the UT Volunteers and Dawgs.

Nobody is giving Tennessee football a chance on Saturday against the Georgia Bulldogs. And to be fair, nobody should be giving them a chance. The Vols are 1-3 with no wins yet against an FBS opponent and two losses at home to Group of Five schools.

Meanwhile, they are hosting a team that is two close losses to the Alabama Crimson Tide away from back to back national titles, is built with three straight No. 1 recruiting classes, including the greatest class in college football history in 2018, and is coming off a bye week after scoring a top 10 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. It’s a bad matchup.

Is there any possibility that Tennessee football makes this a game on Saturday? Well, they are playing the game at home in front of a night-time audience. Neyland Stadium can be rough for the visitor in that atmosphere.

But honestly, it’s hard to find out how they could make this a close game. If they do, a lot of things will have to go right, and even that is just to keep it close going into the fourth quarter before Kirby Smart’s team pulls away anyway.

Still, Jeremy Pruitt’s team is coming off a bye just like the Dawgs. And UT, despite its horrendous start, has shown a few flashes of being successful. Mistakes and lack of execution have had everything to do with this horrendous start.

If they can cut down on those, maybe they have a chance to start looking decent. There are lots of things they’ll have to do to make this interesting, and there are just a few things Georgia needs to do to win this one in a blowout.

We’re going to break all of that down here. Let’s go ahead and analyze what will dictate the outcome of this matchup. These are the 10 keys to the game for the Vols and Bulldogs when Tennessee football hosts Georgia Saturday night at Neyland Stadium on ESPN.
