A blowout loss to the Bulldogs wouldn’t seem to have too many bright spots for the Volunteers. But Tennessee football had some things worth reliving.

Despite losing 43-14, Tennessee football provided some encouragement against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday. The Vols finally saw why their receivers are elite, their linebackers developed, and most importantly, they appear to have found a quarterback.

All of this manifested in them having a 14-10 lead at one point in the first half and even having the ball with against the lead against possibly the most talented team in the country. That’s a big step for this team when you consider the fact that they are 1-4 and have not yet even beaten an FBS program this year.

Still, as a result, there are a few moments that were worth remembering from Saturday’s game, and they were fun to look at to provide enough encouragement. So if you follow Tennessee football, it won’t hurt you to look at some of the moments from that blowout loss. Here is a UT-UGA photo gallery.

Again, seeing a new quarterback in a guy like Maurer was enough to give a bit of energy to Jeremy Pruitt’s team. And remember, they were once again just a few mistakes away from making this incredibly close. So while their play is not worth celebrating, they at least made sure this game wasn’t boring early on.

The Vols faced the No. 3 ranked team in the nation and managed to keep things interesting for a while. Given how pathetic the state of this program is right now, we can say that is somewhat of a positive, and it’s why the moments from the matchup are worth reliving to a certain degree. That’s why we encourage everybody in Vol Nation to look at the photo gallery.
