Scouting Report. 839. Trey Smith. 5. player. Pick Analysis. Offensive Lineman. Junior

The Georgia Bulldogs had three sacks on the day and 11 tackles for a loss. But if we’re being honest, things could have been much worse. Tennessee football’s offensive line did a very solid job and showed dramatic improvement considering how outmatched they were, so we had to give somebody a shoutout from the unit.

After all, the passing game picked up because of their blocking, and Tim Jordan and Ty Chandler both averaged over five yards a carry. So there were enough bright spots for us to give this unit credit. The problem is penalties by the freshmen, Wanya Morris and Darnell Wright, made it hard to figure out who to credit.

In this one, will give it to Trey Smith. Again, the line played mediocre, but it deserves credit for just being at that level, and Smith is a big reason it was. He got banged up and left the game at one point but came back in and played through being hurt. UT’s most proven offensive lineman continues to show he’s also the toughest, and it was evident on Saturday.

As a result, we have no problem giving Smith a shoutout. Riley Locklear and Brandon Kennedy also deserve some credit, but Smith, when he was in, was once again the best blocker on the field. So he just makes it as a top performer.
