It will be extremely hard for Tennessee football to pull off the upset vs. the Alabama Crimson Tide. Here are five UT Volunteers to watch for.

Can they do it? Hey, the Georgia Bulldogs, who may be the most talented team in the nation, just lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks at home. So now, as Tennessee football gets set to visit the Alabama Crimson Tide, Jeremy Pruitt has Will Muschamp to look to.

Okay, maybe that’s a bit of a stretch coming off a 20-10 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. But the Vols have to play this game on Saturday. And Jeremy Pruitt will be tasked with trying to do what no Nick Saban assistant has ever done, which is beat Saban as a head coach.

Last Saturday’s turnaround win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs is giving some Tennessee football fans hope. A few players are beginning to show the impact they can have, and the Vols need to rely on them while taking a few risks to win.

Jeremy Pruitt jokingly said his team should try not punting and doing an onside kick every time they score. Funny enough, that might be a solid game plan. But the real plan needs to be finding the players who can exploit what little weaknesses exist on Alabama. And if you look hard enough, there are a few who can do that.

As we get set to look at the key players to watch for when UT faces Alabama, we’re looking at players who not only can exploit Alabama’s few weaknesses but also players who have to come through to find a way to limit their strengths. What we aren’t going to focus on is any risk factor.

After all, when you’re playing Alabama and you have significantly less talent, you can’t worry about risks. You have to worry about what you can do to beat them and then pray for a miracle in order to do it.

So who can put the Vols on track to do that? Which players provide them with just a slight chance to end this 12-game losing streak. Let’s take a look here. These are the five Vols to watch for when Tennessee football faces Alabama Saturday.
