Our Week Eight Volunteers, Southeastern Conference and top 25 predictions is led by the Alabama Crimson Tide hosting Tennessee football.

Finally, Tennessee football had a weekend to celebrate. Their game also gave us something to celebrate, as we were right on the gambling pick and the over/under, even if we were wrong on the overall outcome.

Vol Nation also got to celebrate the Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators losing over the weekend as well. No, on those fronts, we weren’t so fortunate when it came to making our picks. But we weren’t completely wrong either.

We said last week that Tennessee football winning could parallel us getting on the right track for our gambling picks. However, as you’ll see here, we flatlined. Here’s a look at our record on straight-up picks and gambling picks from last week.

Record for Week Four predictions straight-up: 6-3

Gambling Record:  9-9

Against the spread: 3-6

On the Over/Under: 6-3

So yes, we hit the .500 mark on gambling while having a winning record on our straight-up picks. We at least know one team to consistently bet against, though, in the Vanderbilt Commodores, and we’ll get into who they are a little bit later. Vandy, Georgia and UT let us down straight-up. Here’s a look at the impact last week had on our overall record for the year.

Overall record for predictions straight-up: 57-14

Gambling Record: 62-58-2

Against the spread: 31-29-1

On the Over/Under: 31-29-1

By hitting .500, we stayed over it for the year. And, as you noticed, the great week we had on the over/under now has us over .500 on both gambling counts. But now we have a tall task to keep it going heading into this week.

This is one of the most exciting weekends of the year. Every SEC team is playing, and they are all playing another SEC team. So yes, we have seven all-SEC games to bring you. Meanwhile, there are three games featuring two top 25 teams outside of the conference for us to get to, making for an epic weekend of 10 games overall.

As we usually do, we’ll go in the order of which the games are scheduled and finish with the Vols. But this time, UT is scheduled to play last anyway. So let’s have a little fun with our Tennessee football, SEC and top 25 predictions for Week Eight of 2019.
