In order to win Saturday, Tennessee football has to keep an eye on lots of South Carolina players. Here are five key Gamecocks against the Volunteers.

They are seriously banged up heading into Neyland Stadium. And with a 3-4 record, that’s not a good thing given their desperation to try to make a bowl game. But the South Carolina Gamecocks still have lots of talent for Tennessee football to handle.

So despite the signs of improvement, Jeremy Pruitt’s second team on Rocky Top still has lots of things to work on if they want to make a bowl game themselves. And as they host Will Muschamp’s team Saturday, there are lots of players for them to keep an eye on.

South Carolina runs a similar program under Muschamp to what Tennessee football runs under Pruitt. The only difference is that the Gamecocks have way more weapons who have leapt off the screen because of the impact they make playing their role.

The Vols obviously need their own talented players to step up, but they have to watch out for these guys as well. If they can’t neutralize some of these dangerous weapons, they are in for a loss at Neyland Stadium Saturday.

As we get set to look at the key S.C. players facing the Vols, the focus is going to be on the defensive guys. They have too many questions on offense outside of one key weapon. But defense, despite a few injuries, is still loaded with players who can impact the game. And they are in every unit on that side of the ball as well.

It’s not surprising that a team led by Muschamp would have its biggest weapons be on that side of the ball. After all, Muschamp’s bread and butter is defense. But Pruitt and the Vols need to be ready as a result. So let’s go ahead and break down who these players are. These are the five South Carolina Gamecocks to watch for against Tennessee football Saturday.
