Tennessee Lady Vols: Ranking five 2019-2020 newcomers by potential impact
Four freshmen and a junior college transfer have joined the Tennessee Lady Vols for 2019-2020. Here is how those five women’s basketball Volunteers rank.
There’s a completely different attitude and identity for the Tennessee Lady Vols as they get set to begin the 2019-2020 season. And it’s not just due to the fact that they have a new head coach in Kellie Harper to replace Holly Warlick.
The loss of three starters and four contributors, most notable Evina Westbrook to transfer and Meme Jackson to graduation, means this team has a lot of talent to replace. But we have to pay respects to Warlick, who secured a very good recruiting class for Rocky Top before she was let go at the end of last year.
With the returning talent of elite players like Rennia Davis and the return to health of sixth-year senior Lou Brown, the Tennessee Lady Vols also add four freshmen and a junior college transfer. Two of those freshmen were five-star recruits, another was a three-star, and the fourth comes from Australia.
Harper added the junior college transfer and the freshman from overseas. So this team has lots of new talent this year to offset some of its losses. But who are these players that make up that talent? And what type of impact could they have on the team this year?
