Homecoming for Tennessee football against the UAB Blazers leads our Week 10 predictions for the Volunteers, Southeastern Conference and top 25.

Talk about a rebound for Tennessee football. By winning 41-21 over the South Carolina Gamecocks last week, they turned a corner despite moving to just 3-5 on the year and 2-3 in the SEC. Does that really count as turning a corner?

Well, if it does, we may have somewhat turned a corner in our picks. After all, they were an improvement over the previous week. But that’s not saying much, so it doesn’t necessarily mean we turned a corner in a good way.

Simply put, we are similar to Tennessee football in that we still have some dramatic improvements to make. And that’s what this week is for. Before that, though, here is a recap of how we performed in our picks during Week Nine of the season.

Record for Week Nine predictions straight-up: 6-1

Gambling Record:  7-7

Against the spread: 5-2

On the Over/Under: 2-5

So it was the over/under that killed us, but at least were were .500. If the Wisconsin Badgers could have scored just one touchdown, or if the Mississippi State Bulldogs offense hadn’t come alive, this wouldn’t have been an issue. Oh, and it’s weird that Tennessee football’s and South Carolina’s passing offense came alive last week. Anyway, here’s how we are doing on the season.

Overall record for predictions straight-up: 70-18

Gambling Record: 76-78-2

Against the spread: 41-36-1

On the Over/Under: 35-42-1

Being .500 kept us under .500 for the year, and like this past week, the over/under is what’s been killing us on the year. So now it’s time for another improvement, one that actually gets us back over .500 and en route to that 52 percent goal.

This week, there are four SEC teams who once again have a bye. But among the 10 who play, two have non-conference games. The other eight play each other, making for six games in the conference. Then we have one non-conference game between two top 25 teams to cover. And believe it or not, it’s a Group of Five game.

That gets us to seven games to pick. As usual, we’ll pick each game in the order of which they were schedule with the exception of the Vols, which always comes last. So here are our Tennessee football, SEC and top 25 predictions for Week 10 of the 2019 season.
