Junior. Pick Analysis. 5. player. 839. Scouting Report. Defensive Tackle. Aubrey Solomon

There were three players who came away with sacks in the game: Darrell Taylor, Shawn Shamburger and Aubrey Solomon. Greg Emerson had two pass deflections at the line of scrimmage and brought pressure all night, Kivon Bennett also got a rush, and Darel Middleton managed to force a fumble.

Simply put, you couldn’t say anything negative about Tennessee football’s front seven. But we went ahead and put Solomon on the list here. The sack was impressive enough. He was also tied, however, for third on the team in tackles with four and fourth in solo tackles with two. That’s not too bad for guy up front in Jeremy Pruitt’s system.

Then Solomon was the guy who recovered the Tyler Johnston III fumble that Middleton forced, so he had a hand in one of the four turnovers. This was the turnover that resulted in the Vols’ first touchdown as well, putting them more in control of the game. That stat line is impressive enough for us to put him at No. 5 on here.

The Michigan Wolverines transfer finally emerged and did what he was brought in to do in the first place. Solomon was carrying the weight for a struggling defensive front early in the season, and to be honest, he wasn’t doing a great job. As a result, his standout performance on Saturday was him developing and him cashing in on the rest of the line finally helping out.
