The Tennessee Volunteers are still in the top half of the Southeastern Conference in our SEC Power Rankings following Week 11 of the 2019 season.

Last Saturday included the Game of the Century and another big win for Tennessee football. But even in the process, lots of aspects in our SEC Power Rankings remained unchanged. And with three weeks to go, it’s getting clear who belongs where.

One big upset involving a non-conference game shook the bottom half of the league. The Vols and Wildcats were similar enough already, so a close game between them wasn’t going to dramatically shake things up, but it did move some things around.

However, as we get set to do our SEC Power Rankings, it’s clear that three teams still remain in the College Football Playoff race, one team is squarely at the bottom, and five are still in the top tier with two more games among those teams coming up. So things are still pretty interesting.

Only six teams have clinched bowl eligibility, but two more are one win away, and they play each other. So at least seven teams will be bowl eligible by the end of the year, and with four other teams two wins away, that number likely reaches eight or nine eventually.

However, what’s clear about this league is how vastly different teams are. You may have the best team in the nation and the worst Power Five team out there in one conference. And then there’s one team that may have the largest difference between its home and road performances of all time. Simply put, there’s a wide ocean between the top and the bottom of this league.

But we could still break things down into tiers, with one team standing alone in the bottom tier. And, to be honest, there is one team in a tier by itself at the top now too, even if five teams deserve top-tier status. So let’s do our best to analyze how programs are doing. These are our SEC Power Rankings following Week 11 of the 2019 college football season.
